BBP had the opportunity to attend their 2024 Accelerator Showcase last month which featured an amazing cohort of innovative new businesses founded on circular economy principles. As BBP has reduction of waste in its DNA, we are always on the look out for both new member businesses who operate within our Program Partner councils as well as strategic partnerships to promote and support through our sustainable business network.
CandleXchange is transforming the home fragrance market by promoting zero landfill practices. If you love luxury scented candles but don’t know what to do with the empty glass holders, this is for you. Employing the return and swap model (like Soda Stream), you swap the empty for new candle and get a discount for the return enabling a more sustainable, accessible luxury experience for candle lovers! The founders of CandleXchange also founded Upcandle an initiative where CandleXchange will take your empty candle containers, refill them then donate them to refuges and domestic violence survivors. CandleXchange is now a BBP accredited business so you will be hearing more about them soon!
BBP also stands for “bye-bye plastic” and we love new Northern Beaches based start-up Devolver, making strides in reducing waste with their innovative reusable container system for takeaway food. Their technology simplifies the borrowing and tracking process, helping to eliminate disposable packaging and reduce landfill waste, benefiting both businesses and the environment. We are working together to bring a pilot of the Devolver program to a BBP program area soon, so watch this space!
