Do you have an excess of home grown lemons?  What to do with the enormous rosemary bush that has become a tree, or swamped by sudden fruiting trees in your garden?  The local sustainable and community-minded answer is…. CROP SWAP!  This concept was first coined by BBP member Laurie Green from Grow Gather Graze whereby home produce growers come together  to build community, reduce food waste and help people eat better, at a lesser cost.  Find out more and locate your local group on the Crop Swap website.

We are very excited to announce a special opportunity to participate in a Crop swap at the BBP Sustainable Business networking event at the Coal Loader on 16 February with our sustainable beverage supplier Trolley’d.  Trolley’d is Australia’s first mobile bar and events company embracing the qualities of sustainability, foraged native Australian and local organic produce. Their vision for a healthy planet embraces the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle, regenerate’ ethos throughout our entire production line, so the concept of taking excess home grown produce and turning it into unique concoctions for their cocktails is perfectly up their alley!

Laurie Green will also be on hand at the Coal Loader to answer any questions you might have about the Crop Swap program.

How to participate in the Trolley’d Crop Swap?

Attendees to the event are invited to bring along any excess homegrown (unsprayed) fruit or herbs.   All your fresh produce will be taken back to the Trolley’d kitchens for making into syrups, partnered with spirits or end up as garnishes.  In return for your produce, a fair and reasonable exchange will take place!  Trolley’d will exchange a reasonable amount of produce for a cocktail or other bevvie (or maybe even 2)!  That’s on top of your included beverage with your ticket price!

If you have any queries about suitability of your produce for this opportunity, send a direct message to Trolley’d by Email, or for faster response through Facebook or Instagram
