Sustainable Wining and Dining

BBP and partner Ku-ring-gai Council hosted a lively Sustainable Food and Wine night last month at BBP member Kipling’s Garage Bar in Turramurra. Guests enjoyed canapes on arrival and 4 courses that included food sourced locally from a range of in season, free range and certified organic producers, including our own Two Creeks Honey in Lindfield.

Dishes were accompanied by 9 carefully selected tasting wines from Thistle Hill, an award winning Certified Organic winery from the Mudgee region. Kipling’s separated the organic preparation waste from the event which was composted at the Turramurra Lookout Community Garden and $10 from every ticket was donated to food waste charity OzHarvest. Feedback from the night has been extremely positive and Ku-ring-gai Council hopes to run the event annually and invite other BBP member cafes and restaurants to take part.
