April Business of the Month

26 April 2012

April FlavoursThe April business of the month is Flavours Catering and Events in Artarmon. The owner Belinda Sullivan and Client Services Manager Clare Miller have personal interests in renewable and sustainable options for the catering business.  They have a full recycling program, donate to OzHarvest and the Biggest Morning Tea, purchase biocane tableware and are specifically mindful with food ordering to minimise waste.

Flavours were happy to be recognised for their sustainable work. They are now adopting a longer term view on sustainability as they recognise the value in making smarter purchasing decisions upfront. Belinda and Clare encourage other businesses to participate in BBP to learn how to save money and energy.

“From a marketing point of view it’s a government authority that’s quasi-independent grouping that means we have an independent audit. It’s not like we’ve bestowed upon ourselves green credentials and I think when a green party gives you that accreditation it gives you more weight” – Clare Miller, Flavours Catering and Events.
