BBP Reaches 300 with Pymble Golf Club

Pymble Golf Club has become the 300th business to join the Better Business Partnership (BBP). Mayor Jennifer Anderson congratulated the local business community for its strong support of BBP, which offers initiatives to reduce energy and water usage, improve recycling and promote sustainable purchasing.

Pymble Golf Club is striving to become a ‘greener’ club and has already undertaken several initiatives such as installing sensor lighting and using on-site dams to irrigate its greens.

October Ride to Work

Ride To Work Day 2011

Ride To Work Day will be held this Wednesday the 12th of October. Over one hundred and fifty thousand Australian workers are expected to join the commuter revolution. It's the perfect opportunity for you to have a go at riding to work.  
In 2010, more than 105,000 people participated in Ride to Work Day across Australia. Five months later, 43% of those registered new riders were still riding to work.

Crows Nest Festival

The Crows Nest Festival is on this Sunday, October 16th on Willoughby Road, Crows Nest from 10am to 5pm. This annual community festival attracts over 40,000 people and is designed as a family day out for locals and visitors to the area.

Willoughby Online Community Panel

Willoughby Council is developing an Online Community Panel. The Panel provides an opportunity for community members to have a say in Council’s decision making process. You will be briefed on upcoming Council projects, better understand local issues and lead the community discussion on the direction of the City of Willoughby.

Better Lighting Solutions Are Coming!

Many BBP members have been calling the BBP team and asking for advice in response to the recent increase to their business power bill. To reduce long term exposure to rising utility bills, one way BBP members can save money is by investing in energy efficient lighting.   

To assist with this, BBP is planning to undertake a competitive process to appoint preferred suppliers who can provide robust advice and competitive prices on quality energy efficient lighting. We look forward to providing energy efficient lighting options in the near future for the consideration of our members.

October Pop Up

Pop Up Culture Crows Nest

An exciting new project called “Pop Up Culture” has been initiated in Crows Nest to encourage new and emerging designers and artists to showcase their talent as part of temporary exhibitions in vacant shops.  

The project aims to collaborate with landlords to utilize empty commercial spaces in and around Crows Nest and activate these disused spaces with vibrant art installations for the enjoyment of the Crows Nest community. This project will boost commerce and culture in Crows Nest.
